Today's Category Feature: Best Designed Weblog

Today, the 2011 Canadian Weblog Awards category we're featuring is Best Designed Weblog, which has 13 nominees thus far.

As much as beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, good weblog design also requires usability and accessibility, functionality, and interactivity, and it takes a thoughtful blogger and a keen designer to build a beautiful yet practical website. All weblogs in the 2011 Canadian Weblog Awards are held up to a set of ten criteria by which a jury will judge them, and the weblogs in this category have a tall order to fill.

The 2010 Canadian Weblog Awards nominees of the day today are from our Best Designed category.

Design is a fairly prominent part of the Canadian Weblog Awards' judging criteria across all categories, but this category will, of course, require and stricter eye when it comes to meeting the standards of good design. I am excited to see what stands out for our judges at the end of the year!

The Canadian Weblog Awards nominees of the day are from our Best Designed category. For reasons of transparency, I have to admit to you that I am a fan of all four of the weblogs that have been nominated so far, and so are a few other Canadians, if the number of nominations have anything to say about it. This will be an interesting category to keep an eye on, because there is so much diversity with regard to weblog design.
