Attack Of The Redneck Mommy Turns Five AND Wins A Bloggie

Tanis Miller's Attack of the Redneck Mommy turns five years old today! Blogging has been a heart-warming and revelatory journey for her over the years:
A lot of things have changed in the five years I’ve been blogging. I’ve made new friends, I’ve lost old ones. My children have grown up and I’ve picked up another kid along the way. My arse has gotten bigger and then smaller, my boobs have been pierced and then unpierced. Bushes have been blue and pits have been unshaven. Through it all, I’ve managed to avoid learning how to filter. My mother is so proud.
And, on top of that accomplishment, Attack of the Redneck Mommy has won Best Canadian Weblog in the 2011 Bloggies, the largest and longest-running weblog awards in existence.

The Canadian Weblog Awards congratulate you Tanis. In fact, I just gave you a little standing ovation in my living room. Kudos!

Blogging In The News: Blaaaahhhhgggs Are Teh Ded?

Check out Adam P Knave's "Blaaaahhhhgggs Are Teh Ded?", in which he discusses the New York Times' skewed piece about the supposed waning social trend in blogging:
People will still blog – in the sense that they will still tell stories, about themselves, about their lives and about each other. People won’t move away from that. The exact website they do it on will change, and the backbone tech will certainly change, but the fact of it never will.
